Blog Fodder is all Around Us.
Hands down – the hardest part of maintaining a blog is sitting down every day and coming up with something new and original to write about. Even if your blog is business-related, you may often find yourself scratching your head when in fact relevant topics are all around you. Here are a few tips that will help you keep the content flowing.
- Not every entry needs to be the Winds of War. Link to an interesting article you’ve read and write a sentence or two summarizing or sharing your thoughts about it. You can even quote part of the original article (as long as you remember to link back to where you found it.
- Have a look at some of the blog memes that are available. A meme is a series of questions or a topic that is passed around from blog to blog and answered individually. Many sites, Friday’s Feast for example, offer up new memes weekly, and can inspire you to get busy writing terrific content for your readers.
- We’re all familiar with the phrase “that reminds me of a funny story…”. Feel free to reach into the past and share your prior stories and experiences. Blogs are widely considered to be current sources of information – but if it’s your blog, you can make your own rules.
I’ll be adding new content-generating tips frequently, and you can see all related entries filtered at any time by selecting the Content category.
